HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible: A Review

HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible: A Review

HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible (4th ed.) / by Steven M. Schafer (Wiley, 2007) Paperback, 700 p. ISBN 9780470128619

HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible is the authoritative compendium how to use the basic building blocks of web design: HyperText Markup Language, eXtensible HyperText Markup Language, and Cascading Style Sheets.  For readers with at least some prior knowledge of HTML, it can serve as a textbook to read sequentially, but is probably best used as a reference book.

It is divided into four sections: 1) Creating Content with HTML, 2) HTML Tools and Variants, 3) Controlling Presentations with CSS, and 4) Additional CSS Tools. Basically, HTML places content (text and images) on a web page and CSS provides the style. HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible digs deeper into CSS than many other similar books, breaking it into small steps to make it less overwhelming. Shafer’s copious use of screenshots and diagrams also aids comprehension.

Students will benefit from the step-by-step explanations of HTML and CSS, the background, and advice on good practices. Both students and experts will find HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible especially valuable for ease of finding particular details. The fourth part contains quick reference guides about XHTML elements, HTML special characters, CSS properties and selectors, pseudo-elements, and pseudo-classes.

HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible serves ably as a basic textbook, a refresher, and a desk reference. This edition has been superseded by later ones, but it still serves its purpose ably for anyone who is not working strictly with cutting edge innovations in browsers or web design. Usually, old editions are available only as used books, but new copies of the 4th edition of HTML, XHTML, and CSS Bible are still available . Apple iPad 16gb MC349LL/A (Wi-fi + 3g) Review Product By Customer

Apple iPad 16gb MC349LL/A (Wi-fi + 3g) Review Product By Customer.

Like a netbook for the layperson

My father bought one of them can use it for a few days before he took over. My impressions of him are mostly good, my two main objections that:
The first Android phone if I buy the market demand, I’m 24 hours trying to decide if I want. As I said, no such role IPAD. So if you buy something and it really sucks, oh, do not study over
or something for these applications. I do not remember what in any comments I have read earlier, but I think it’s important. I believe that the auditors, the iPhone already in IPAD are
interested, it was widely known in society.
Another iTunes is a big pita. I downloaded and installed a new copy of iTunes on my computer USB IPAD connected and to quickly remove all the books and IPAD applications without
warning. Then when I take my computer in iTunes father claimed that the IPAD one iTunes library (probably because it is mine) can be synchronized, and I would like to remove all “IPAD.
At least this time, he warned, but if your IPAD synchronize two different teams, you have to jump through rims.
In general, it appears that a small device, Android, but it is good because it does not really know for people who do not design the difference anyway. In addition, there is no better
choice of applications here. I bought me well when I need a way could avoid the use of the available iTunes content from your computer IPAD. I did some research to see if I can just
drag and jailbreak, which is without iTunes, but no luck.
As my father is concerned, it is not complete computer novices, but not really very intelligent and really IPAD. MLB Bat installed, and listen to baseball games directly to your device, if
the net surfing. I told him I could see the games, MLB.TV subscription, but I would like to hear more. * Shrugs *
For those who say there is only one great iPod Touch, is not necessarily bad. IPAD is generally difficult to do it, but I can assure you ..has a larger screen than 3x is an advantage if your
iPod Touch (or equivalent) to play, while many on the couch:)
And those who should be taken as rude IPAD USB / HDMI cameras or multi-tasking really irrelevant. Ca. 15-20 minutes I had the opportunity to sit with my father, and almost seems to
know everything about the product, and now you can download and install their own applications and not, and can in his chair. And please do not worry about viruses and malware, and
user friendliness to my IPAD reduction for help:) I think we can say that one of these benefits, for both of us. Has a steep learning curve and much less on a netbook, and little is known
about safety risks .

This is an amazing product

Good and love to make or receive, and I wonder what the hell.
For me it is an excellent product. Once you have your iPhone or iPod touch to know how it is in fact greater use. It is faster and easier to use, because the keyboard is larger and the
range for use in applications. I bought a wireless model, the source added that, then update 3G, and it gave me the opportunity, wherever he went tukietäisyytenä. I have movies,
music, games, RSS reader and never looked back. IPAD is fantastic. I assume that there may be other brands, but in today’s market IPAD is the best laptop I’ve ever seen.
Some say that it has gaps in the workplace, not often, and it is CNN. All other places I visit changed formats IPAD HTML5 video, and other formats. Flash is not used, is not a big problem
with my application.
This book is a great player. Personally, I read in the last few weeks that it has won in recent years. Reading is available because no matter where you are, if you’ve read a couple of
minutes book chapter and then go ahead, without books around.
This is a fantastic product that I can not say enough about it. Why should I give 4 stars? For it is a little too complex and the only reason. But if we take into account that the battery is
easily in my experience 14 / 10 hours without having to download it, find it difficult. It is beautiful, a computer, which can be used literally save the day, without trying to, on the
battery, and can not be reversed battery.
Excellent product .

Revolutionary?
A few months ago, said that some NK cells. I just received my day in IPAD a few years ago and is a little ‘disappointed. This review is the first impression a few days and I can still do all
the changes Apple developers from the start is open. Beginning with I professionals.
Benefits
The first beautiful, stylish and display. If you are familiar with the iPhone, or want to screen
Second battery, said up to nine hours surfing the Web
Third, portable, thin and light

Cons:
The first date, it feels really good, like the iPhone and iTouch by phone or text message
Another can thus photos or files to e-mail
The third movement of his fingers canvas is much more work than using the mouse
Fourth Java applets or Flash functions
Fifth Month, eventhough you already have a second plan for the iPhone While the iPhone is still my favorite band, IPAD no way a laptop anytime soon. Once we understand how to deal with excellent pictures or attachments in e-mail, Java / Flash and expensive data services, three stars. “I can not without the IPAD ..yes ..but the whole is more fun .

Flex Development Gets Bigger and Better – Flash Builder 4 Review

After nearly a year since Adobe released the public beta versions of Flash Builder 4 and Flex SDK 4, the software giant has officially released its Flex development tools. Flash Builder 4 supports open source RIA development and helps the Flex developer community in faster RIA development using the next-gen Eclipse-based IDE for constructing data-driven apps on its open source Flex framework. Clearly Adobe makes a huge jump in the transition of the predecessor Flex Builder 3 to the Flash Builder 4 in terms of more than just the name change.

Among the improvements Adobe has added to the Flash Builder 4 IDE, Adobe has significantly simplified the data and services synchronization through a remodeled system that quickly exposes methods and tables. Additionally the IDE brings efficiency even in handling large data through excellent client-side management and paging features. Furthermore, Adobe eases Flex development for the Flex developers by implementing the much popular code hinting and code generation feature that is automated via a wizard-driven engine under the hood. Thus now a Flex developer can write better code with fewer errors and even monitor the debug cycle on the IDE itself. This fastens the testing and debugging phases by numerous knots.

The Flash Builder 4 has been released hand in hand with the Flex SDK 4 that improves the Spark architecture of the Flex platform. The latest version update boasts a support for HTML5 and CSS3 technologies. Surely Adobe is putting in tooth and nail in its fight against Microsoft for the RIA development platform. Microsoft Silverlight 4 sees a new found rival with a released Adobe Flex 4 version. The competition seems to heat up, and the Flex developers are enjoying it as they are getting newer toys to play with. Flex 4 truly is a big step forward in Flex development from the stables of Adobe.

Flash Builder 4 contains all of the tools necessary to get started with the Flex 4 SDK languages (MXML, ActionScript), component library, compiler, and debugger. Flex even supports rapid application development regardless of the server-side technology used – whether PHP, .Net, Ruby, ColdFusion, or Perl. The data synchronization is streamlined with Adobe LiveCycle Data Services ES.

The Flex developer gets a robust debugging tool that helps by providing anticipated trace elements, as well as conditional breakpoints and complex expression evaluation for faster isolation of trouble points. Even the testing module adds unit testing support that lets the Flex developers build cases into the test suite, then run directly from within Builder or automated.

Other improvements include a more flexible runtime layout for rendering faster animations and multimedia playback. This is aimed to get the Flex development up to the mobile phone development standards. Thus to conclude, Flash Builder 4 rightly deserves a slap on Adobe’s back as it brings in a terrific IDE for Flex development and is a must have for all Flex developers who intend to build superior enterprise applications on the Flex platform. The IDE will demonstrably shorten the development cycle by exposing data, streamlining workflow, and simplifying change management so that your Flex apps will remain nimble.

Iphone OS 4 Hands-On And Review

Iphone OS 4 Hands-On And Review

Iphone OS 4 Hands-On And Review Just a bit more than a year after we first laid eyes on iPhone OS 3.0, Apple is back with the latest big revision of the OS that powers the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. iPhone OS 4 is shipping this summer (iPad in the fall), and the developer preview will be out today. iPhone 3GS and new-gen iPod touch will get all the features, but some features won’t make it to the iPhone 3G, original iPhone, and older iPod touches. The biggest new feature is multitasking, which Apple says is going to be the “best” implementation in the smartphone space, though it’s obviously not the first. App switching is activated by double tapping the home button, which pulls up a “dock” of currently running apps, and Apple claims it can do this without hurting battery life or performance for the front app. Unfortunately, this multitasking won’t be available for devices older than the 3GS and new iPod touch. Multitasking is just one of seven different new “tentpole” features, including Game Center, enhanced Mail, and more… Notable new features for users (“tentpoles” are in bold): * Multitasking. * Spell check (like on the iPad). * Bluetooth keyboard support (again, on the iPad). * User-defined wallpaper (a jailbreak favorite). * Tap to focus when recording video, just like with photos, and a 5x digital zoom for the camera. * Playlist creation and nested playlists. * App folders for sorting apps! You can even put an app folder in the dock. * Enhanced Mail! You can
